As a Midwestern transplant, one of my favorite commercials from Sunday's Super Bowl was the Dodge Ram commercial that celebrated farming, God Made a Farmer. The ad appropriately captured the essence of the hard working Americans who support our food production industry. My only problem with the commercial was that it was being used to sell a car. Thankfully, the good people at Next City saw an opportunity, to create a similarly earnest video.

I feel a little guilty posting this on such a cold, blustery day - but I just returned from a trip to Costa Rica. My girlfriend and I went to escape the cold, and take a break from the rigors of work and graduate school. Still, as a transportation professional navigating a foreign country, I couldn’t help but take note of certain aspects of Costa Rican mobility. During our trip, we spent all of our time in small, mainly rural towns – a vast contrast to the busting urban environment in and around Arlington.
