Employer Champions

After completing BRONZE, SILVER, and GOLD Levels, complete three additional actions:

• Complete four additional Gold or Silver Level items (at least two must be Gold Level)
• Offer a direct or combination commuter benefit
• Provide or subsidize shuttle service or current transit route
• Provide a fleet of bicycles for commuting or workday travel
• Implement one of the following parking management strategies:
  • Implement a new parking fee
  • Implement a daily parking fee
  • Provide a parking cash out
  • Provide a daily financial incentive for non-parking modes
• Implement a new program or benefit based on employee commute and benefits survey
• Provide a financial incentive for biking and/or walking
• Form a new vanpool or add three riders via Vanpool Connect
• Sponsor an ATP event
• Refer a new employer to Champions and receive credit after their enrollment meeting

Recognition at this level:

• All BRONZE, SILVER, and GOLD Level rewards
• Exclusive invite to and recognition at annual Arlington County Board Meeting
• Recognition in up to two local or regional publications
• Recognition of business in/on transit and associated locations
• Opportunity to be nominated for a national award from the Association for Commuter Transportation or the League of American Bicyclists
• Credit of up to $100 towards an Association for Commuter Transportation event, webinar, or membership

Champions 2021 activities must be completed by November 30, 2021.

After completing BRONZE and SILVER Levels, complete three actions:

• Offer a pre-tax commuter benefit
• Provide free, pre-loaded SmarTrip cards to employees
• Create a return to office commuter plan with ATP assistance
• Conduct an employee commute and benefits survey, discuss recommendations
• Create a new formal telework program or expand eligibility criteria/number of days
• Host a custom virtual or in-person event with ATP
• Provide locker and shower facilities in office suite
• Provide annual Capital Bikeshare corporate memberships
• Offer a year-round 4/10 or 9/80 compressed work schedule
• Complete one additional unique program as identified with ATP representative

Recogntion at this level:

• All BRONZE and SILVER Level rewards
• Recognition in up to two local or regional publications
• Opportunity to be featured as Champion of the Month on ArlingtonTransportationPartners.com
• Opportunity to be nominated for a regional award from Commuter Connections or the Association for Commuter Transportation

Champions 2021 activities were completed on November 30, 2021.

After completing BRONZE Level, complete three actions:

• Offer equitable benefits for parking and transit
• Allow commuters free access to showers and lockers
• Maintain a formal telework program, discuss opportunities with ATP
• Provide zip code data for an employee commute map
• Set up a Lyft or Uber business account
• Set up a carsharing discount for employees
• Invite ATP to a virtual or on-site wellness or benefits fair
• Promote sustainable transportation initiatives and share information on website
• Adopt an ART bus stop
• Host a virtual or in-person meeting with an ATP partner to identify opportunities
• Participate in or promote an ATP event:
  • National Walking Day
  • Bike to Work Day
  • Our Shared Street Pop-Up
  • Car Free Day
  • Other ATP community events
• Participate in one ATP program:
  • ATP webinar
  • Networking event
  • Feedback survey
  • Qualifying research opportunity

Recognition at this level:

• All BRONZE Level rewards
• Opportunity to be nominated for a national award from Best Workplace for Commuters
• Social media support on Twitter and Facebook

Champions 2021 activities must be completed by November 30, 2021.

Complete these actions:

• Host a Champions enrollment meeting
• Establish a transportation coordinator for the building
• Distribute transportation packets
• Promote at least two transportation options or programs:
  • BikeArlington/WalkArlington
  • Capital Bikeshare
  • Carsharing/Ridesharing
  • Public transportation
  • Carpool
  • Vanpool Connect

Recognition at this level:

• Invitation to the annual Champions banquet
• Featured Champion on ArlingtonTransportationPartners.com
• Access to Champions Press Kit (i.e., logos, press releases, case studies)
• Receive a Champions award certificate
• Invitations to ATP networking events
