Champions Criteria


After completing BRONZE, SILVER, and GOLD Levels, complete this action:

  • Share or update your property’s transportation success story, quote, or building highlight

Complete three additional actions:

  • Complete four additional GOLD or SILVER Level items (at least two must be GOLD Level)
  • Provide residents and on-site employees with subsidized bus service and/or shuttle service to transit
  • Install non-mandated transportation display and/or real-time digital screen
  • Install free non-mandated, covered, secure bike parking
  • Complete follow-up actions identified from transportation survey results and goals
  • Sponsor an ATP event
  • Refer a new property to Champions and receive credit after their enrollment meeting
  • Implement a NEW non-mandated parking fee
  • Offer a direct or combination transportation benefit for on-site employees

Champions 2018 activities must be completed by November 30, 2018.

After completing BRONZE and SILVER Levels, complete four actions:
*Site plan properties must be in compliance with County requirements to achieve Gold Level or higher.

  • Conduct an online transportation performance survey, discuss Modeify and transportation goals
  • Adopt an ART bus stop
  • Provide free, non-mandated covered bike parking
  • Host a resident event with ATP
  • Provide non-mandated, free, pre-loaded SmarTrip cards to residents
  • Provide Capital Bikeshare bulk passes and/or annual memberships for residents and/or property employees
  • Offer on-site carsharing/carsharing membership fee subsidies for tenant employees and/or property employees
  • Participate in an ATP training and/or webinar
  • Provide on-site tools and space for bicycle repair, repair services through an on-call mechanic, or another bike repair amenity
  • Offer up to $260/month pre-tax transportation benefit for on-site employees
  • Additional unique program as determined by Business Development Manager

After completing BRONZE Level, complete three actions:

  • Participate in/promote at least one of the following events:
    • National Walking Day (April)
    • Bike to Work Day (May)
    • Our Shared Street Pop-Up (August)
    • Car Free Day (September)
  • Promote bike commuting and Arlington County Police Department free bike registration
  • Distribute ATP transportation welcome packets to new tenants
  • Participate in at least one ATP program
    • Density map
    • Feedback survey
    • Focus group
    • Arlington County research opportunities
  • Invite ATP to present at a corporate or regional level management meeting
  • Provide electric car charging station or electric bike charging station
  • Actively promote and manage mandated facilities at the property

Complete these actions:

  • Host an enrollment and follow-up Champions meeting
  • Distribute transportation brochures, Quick Glances, and Guaranteed Ride Home information to tenants and property employees

Complete one additional action:

  • Establish a property management contact for multiple properties
  • Promote at least two transportation options or programs to tenants:
